His Lambs Our Lambs Christian Preschool is a Tuition Free Christian Preschool that helps prepare 3-4yr. old children for Kindergarten while teaching them about God and The Bible. They have helped alot of children in their 12 years. They run on donations and fundraisers, and by the grace of God they are able to help 20 students every year.

WRAF Ministry of the Week: Shirley's Soul Food

Shirley Kay Combs is the owner/operator of Shirley's Soul Food Restaurant, Toccoa, GA. It's a tiny spot, but don't let the size fool you. There's a huge ministry inside. After her daily lunch crowd, at 2 pm, she feeds the homeless & needy. Through the meal ministry she feeds up to 20 people each day. She also provides a clothes closet & a food pantry which are supplied by donations.

Miss Shirley hosts two shelters for the homeless. She offers a 6 - 7 month program of spiritual help, Bible study & other assistance. Her vision is to see the residents come to know Christ, be freed from addiction, be involved in a local church, get jobs & a place of their own. She also provides follow up care as each person moves on. The Shirley's House Men's Shelter is located at 58 Alexander St, Toccoa, GA and houses up to 12 men. This home has been open for six years. The Shirley's House Women's Shelter has just recently opened and is at 93 Diagonal St, Toccoa, GA. There Shirley houses up to 3 women. The ministry and shelters are supported entirely through donations.

Christ Central Ministries in this week's WRAF Ministry of the week.

Christ Central Ministries are working to make a great impact in Oconee County and surrounding area.  Christ Central is based out of Columbia, SC, but branched out to Oconee County three years ago with "Saturday Church," a ministry and food program for the needy held every Saturday.  Families Fight addiction classes, and coming soon Families Facing Anger and Abuse classes.  Recently they have started a free GED program, offering locator testing, fast track instruction, preperation, and actual GED testing.  They have also purchased the old office building for the Avondale Mill in Walhalla, SC, which will soon be a residential men,s recovery home called "Ash Tree."  Currently all programs are at Turning Point Church of God in Walhalla, SC.  They can be reached at 864-873-7134.
